The Sims 3 Cheat List

Well here is a pretty basic post but it will help out our new members who still isn't familiar with all the sims 3 cheats. So here is a list of them.

Cheat Window
Control+Shift+C Codes
While in game, press Control+Shift+C on your keyboard to bring up the code console.

Cheats & Description
help: Lists some of the available cheats at the moment.
jokePlease: Gives you a random joke in the code console prompt.
quit: quits the game and directs you to your desktop.
fps on/off: Toggles your Frame Rate per Second in the upper right area while on.
testingcheatsenabled true/false: Turns on Testing Cheats, press shift+click a Sim, or anything else, like your Mailbox to show more options.
moveobjects on/off: Allows you to move anything, including Sims, in your Buy/Build mode.
kaching: gives $1,000 to household funds.
motherlode: gives $50,000 to household funds.
fullscreen on/off: Adjusts your game screen to full or windowed mode.
unlockOutfits on/off: Unlocks outfits in CAS (Create a Sim) mode. This must be enabled before going into CAS.
fadeObjects [on/off]: Toggles whether objects fade when the camera gets close to them.
slowMotionViz <level: Puts the game in slow motion. Optional parameter, value 0 = normal speed and 8 = slowest.
enableLlamas [on/off]: doesn't really do anything but gives a message that says, "Llamas enabled."
resetSim <fi rstname> <lastname>: Resets the named Sim with neutral motives, no moodlets, and teleports Sim back home.
constrainFloorElevation [true/false]: Allows all terrain adjustments regardless of objects, Sims, and other structures on them. Walls, floors, and objects will move with the terrain.
disableSnappingToSlotsOnAlt [on/off]: When on, objects will not snap to slots while holding alt.
hideHeadlineEffects [on/off]: Hides all meters and effects in the game, such as the plumbbob, though bubbles and skill meter.
DisplayLotPackageFileName [on/off]: Switches lot tooltips on or off
ResetLifetimeHappiness: Like it says resets the lifetime happiness of all the sims in an active household.

Testing Cheats Enabled Options:
Mailbox
Shift-clicking the mailbox will give you the following options.

Make All Happy: Makes everyone in the lot happy.
Force Visitor: Force random neighbors to visit sims lot.
Make Needs Static/dynamic: Makes need static or back to normal (dynamic)
Make Friends For Me: Adds 3 or more friends to sims relationship.
Make Me Know Everyone: Makes the sims know everyone in the neighborhood in acquaintance level.
Set Career: Makes you choose sims career
Force NPC: Force NPC's to show up in your lot.
Buydebug:Adds a new buy category in buy mode with a question mark icons containing nieghborhood objects.

Workplace Rabbit-Holes.
Shift-clicking where you work will bring up the following options.

Force Opportunity: Prompts a career opportunity
Force Event: Prompts random career events.
Force All Events: Prompts all events.

Sim
Shift-clicking your active sim will bring up the following options.

Modify Traits: Gives you the window to modify sims traits.
Trigger Age Transition: Age's sims to next age level.
Add To Household: Adds current sim to household. (applicable only to NPC's or anyone not included in your family.)

Ground
Shift-clicking the ground will bring up the following options.

Teleport: Teleports you to the selected place.
Buy/Build on lot: Prompts the build/buy window.

[Fluttereyes]

Get free houses

In edit town mode, before placing a sim.  Open the cheat box and type freerealestate, they can buy any house

Make friends for me gives you 5 new friends, at least that's what it did for me, only know as it's in a file I modified and had to test, file says 5 unless you have a modified version.  Do ctrl +c+shift to open the cheat box, then type testingcheatsenabled true in the cheat box and click on the mailbox, just like in Sims 2.


Also in that file is the cheat  Leipzig which seems to be about advancement or events in the political career, anyone tried it or knows exactly what it does.

Llamas is an EA joke, does nothing.

The latest pre ambitions patch and ambitions seems to have introduced a load more cheats, and brought back some we seem to have lost. For instance money (gives you 1,000,000 simoleons), and lifetimehappiness which gives you 50,000 points. Will try and get a complete list and post it.

I think the money cheat is only if you have Awesome mod installed.  Be careful, a lot of mods are down to having a core mod isntalled

Here's one I just learned

PlaceFriezes on/off

This allows you to place a foundation on top of another foundation, to make a stage.  It isn't much good for house building as you can't put walls around it, the ceiling is then too low.  I haven't played with it yet but I will when I have nothing better to do

I don't have awesome mod, but do have nraas computer and debug enabler.  Will try it without those.  Money does work as my game is now. Will do a test and sort out a full list.
