Download Issues (SOLVED)

Well I found out the stupid ISP Just Host blocks some downloads if they are too busy at the time.  I have an unlimited account, so it's farewell to them.

Dont worry about money Jeannie.  It's nice of you to offer but It will just be an annual fee I'll have to pay right now and I'll do it just to get shot of that lot

When trying to download using internet explorer 8, I keep being sent to the login page (operating system: xp pro), but worked fine with Opera.

Brehat.  We have discovered the issue and we will be changing our hosts.  Our Host is blocking people now and then if more than one person is downloading at a time or within a certain amount of time.

yep, and I keep saying to log out and back in but they don't listen.  I've contacted redpanda to see if they got the file yet, I'm interested to know anyway.  I'm at a loss as to what to do about the downloads thing, it's so infrequent and intermittent that I can't work it out, I've done everything possible to me and can't get it to stop doing that.

That's why  can't fix it.  If it was something like a certain browser was causing it, then fine I could get that sorted, it seems to be just random people and half the time I wonder if they have download limits with their IP.  There's nothing I can do.

I have no idea why people make such a fuss over it, it happens to me a lot on MTS that I can't get a file to come down.  It happens everywhere.  We can see how little it happens.

It still is a problem, but as you say it might be members download limits, or random problems.  Don't know what the answer is but if anyone has problems suggest they E-mail, pm us, or post in the comments on the download, we can then help, and if needed we can E-mail downloads to members.  We do support our downloads and members, and we are as frustrated as our members when there are problems.

Bill, I've been emailing members downloads for months, all they have to do is ask.  I won't put up a post on it though.  One day I got an email from one of them demanding I send it immediately.  I'm not going to start letting people like that dictate and make us spend our days sending them a dozen or more files.  It will have to be as before, when they ask us and ask nicely, then we send it.  Usually if someone says on the download that they are having problems, I pm the and ask if they got it and if not I send it.

that's basically what I have been doing, don't want to be spending all day sending e mails as you say. it is frustrating though when you see people trying 20 or so times, and there is nothing wrong with the files, I have downloaded and checked.

It's been going on since the start and I've done everything I could for it.  I do get annoyed sometimes as when you write to some folk trying to help them they don't even respond half the time.  I just got fed up when I got a pm saing something along the lines of "send blah blah to me now".  I still write to them though if I see a long line of attempts but don't go adding the download till I get a reply.

I'm really annoyed about the download systm though the guy who made it did everything to try to fix it, I made him an admin account and he went right through it and couldn't find a thing wrong, well you know all this, you joined up about the time I was pulling my hair out to the poiint of bald patches.

I would go for v bulletin forum if the site was used more and the members were a wee bit more appreciative.  It would cost me well over a hundred quid to do it and they rarely even thank us on a download.  If I can raise the money and it doesn't come out of our own pockets then fair enough, but for now I have no clue what to do.
