Why do I need an account to download?

Spammers, plain and simple they are the reason we have to ask people to sign up for an account before downloading.  We have a good system for dealing with forum spammers and i we let anyone post or download without an account, we'd be leaving a loophole for the spammers to get through.  I have seen me deleting a dozen fake profiles by these spammers in one day, it happens just about every day. 

So this is why you need an account to do anything on the site, it's the best way to keep the site free from idiots who would spoil it of the rest of us.
